Long Layover in Hanoi. Need Visa?

Entry from China
My son and I are Canadians who will be travelling in China before arriving in Vietnam. We don't know the exact date or how we will be arriving yet . It could be by train or plane and the border crossing is still to be determined. Do I need to know those things before I can apply for a visa? | |
