I am a spanish citezen, am going to Vietnam to marry my Vietnamese fiancee. I wish to stay in Vietnam for six months, to get to know her family, the vietnamese, and Vietnam, a country I admire very much. I understand that the visas are extended for three months only. Since 6-month visa is no longer available, you now just can apply for a 3 month visa on arrival. however, you can extend your visa further once you are in the country. So, i think that there is no problem at all for your plan in Vietnam.
