Visa for transit in Ho Chi Minh City

Question 1: Hi, we are travelling Melbourne to Paris on Vietnam airlines with a 6 hour stopover in Ho Chi Minh City, then onto Paris still on a VN flight and was wondering do we need a visa? Also on our return flight 9 weeks later we have a Vietnam airlines flight but it will be an Air France code share flight to Ho Chi Minh city with a 8 hour stop over before flying VN to Melbourne, we do not intend leaving the airport, do I need a visa for either of the transit stops in Vietnam??
