The itinerary for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of Viet Nam.

Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh signed a plan to organize activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025).

the Ministry of National Defense released a project on military parade and march organization with the participation of 30,000 people on September 2 at Ba Đinh Square, where President Ho Chi Minh President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence declaring the birth of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam (now the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam) on September 2, 1945.

Full Specific program includes:

– 6.30am: Traditional torch procession

– 6.45am: Flag-raising ceremony

– 6.50am: Ceremony announcement, delegate introduction

– 7.05am: Speeches by Party and State leaders

– 7.45am: Parade and march program

– 9.45am-10am: Art performance

Preliminary rehearsal will be held at 9.00 pm on August 27 (Wednesday) with reserve date on August 28 (Thursday). Final rehearsal will take place at 7:00 am on August 30 (Saturday) with reserve date August 31 (Sunday).

Ha Noi also plans to arrange a total of 270 screens and 400 loudspeakers on roads, gateways and public places to help people, especially in the suburbs, to watch the event live, while reducing traffic pressure on the central area where the main celebration will take place.

Accordingly, the capital city will organize fireworks displays at five locations (Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Van Quan Lake, My Dinh National Stadium, Tay Lake) on the evening of September 2.

This year’s holiday holds special significance, with 41 percent of Vietnamese travelers planning trips to relax, reconnect with loved ones, and seek new experiences.

Booking.com data shows that between August 29 and September 3, Vietnamese tourists are drawn to a variety of destinations — from bustling cultural hubs to serene beaches and cool-climate retreats.

Leading the list, Ha Noi offers a vibrant line-up of festivals and events, attracting individuals, families, and groups of friends. With 31 percent of holidaymakers choosing to travel for special events, the capital stands out as a hub for rich cultural experiences.

The parades and festivities marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Viet Nam’s National Day on September 2 are fueling a tourism surge in Ha Noi. According to the Ha Noi Department of Tourism, hotel bookings for the holiday period have jumped 40–50 percent compared to last year, with many central hotels already fully booked from August 30 to September 3 on major online platforms. Industry insiders predict this could be the busiest September 2 holiday on record, as the date typically falls outside Ha Noi’s peak tourism season.

Ranked second, Da Nang entices visitors with turquoise waters, white sands, and a relaxed pace of life, alongside popular attractions like Ba Na Hills and Son Tra Peninsula.

In third place, Da Lat remains a favourite for 56 percent of travellers seeking nature escapes. Known as the “city of a thousand flowers,” it charms with its cool climate, romantic scenery, and outdoor activities.

Other top-searched destinations include Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Hue, Hoi An, Phu Quoc, Mui Ne, and Ho Chi Minh City.

The National Day holiday in Viet Nam takes place on September 2, marking the anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s 1945 Declaration of Independence, which established the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam and now the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

For 2025, the Government has set the official holiday period from August 30 to September 2, giving citizens four consecutive days off.

This year’s celebrations will include large-scale cultural events, patriotic activities, and vibrant tourism campaigns in major cities and destinations across the country./.
