Ho Chi Minh City will host the Asia & Oceania Regional Awards Ceremony of the 29th World Travel Awards – the annual awards recognizing excellence in the global tourism industry. “A metropolis of boundless energy, Ho Chi Minh City draws together old and new Vietnam, representing the city’s past as well as its future. Wander through alleys and markets, explore the temples, and discover the designer malls beneath soaring skyscrapers in this fascinating fusion of different worlds”, stated World Travel Awards. This is the second time Vietnam has hosted the awards, dubbed ‘the Oscars of the travel industry’. In 2019, the finest travel brands in Asia & Oceania were unveiled at a star-studded gala ceremony in the pristine island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. “Vietnam is a fantastic country with huge potential in developing tourism, the country has magnificent nature and friendly people. We hope to further organise the World Travel Awards Week in Vietnam in the future”, said WTA’s President and Founder Graham Cooke in a meeting with Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) on 7th July 2022.
